What is Danes After Dark?
Fun, quality entertainment and late night programs at the University at Albany Uptown Campus Center and Downtown Alumni Quad every Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
Activities
Danes After Dark activities consist of music, karaoke, open mike nights, arts and crafts, traditional board games, video games, free food and various lounge shows. Game Shows, concerts, student artists, and local performers are also scheduled during the semesters.
First Run Movies are shown at the Performing Arts Center Recital Hall and other international, educational, and documentary movies are shown in the Campus Center Terrace Lounge.
The Danes After Dark uptown lounge has a ping pong table, pool table, air hockey table, and foosball. Downtown has a ping pong table and flat screen television.
Interactive Tournaments
Poetry slam battles, trivia tournaments, cards, recreational games, and video games on the big screen are scheduled throughout the semesters with prizes offered to the winners.
Academic Opportunities
Study rooms are available for late evening group or individual meetings in the Campus Center. University at Albany departmental workshops, student groups, and sponsored evenings highlight educational subjects which involve our faculty, students, and staff. Topics include healthy and positive lifestyles, intellectual growth, social responsibility, meaningful interpersonal relationships and an appreciation for diversity.
Stress Down Thursday (Downtown) & Stress Down Fridays (Uptown)
These programs are designed to bring awareness to the negative affects of stress and to educate students on the various ways in which to relieve stress. We offer free therapeutic chair massages.
